The first goal of the music school course , the youth orchestra brings together mandolinists and guitarists around a common repertoire. Guided by their teachers and a few musicians from the major training, the young people learn group playing and tackle different works that they will then practice in the major orchestra.
With the aim of liaison and integration, particular emphasis is placed on the animation repertoire to invite young people during different performances alongside the major orchestra (Olentzero, Fêtes de la Saint Jean, Poteo). Each year, the music school of the city of Saint Jean de Luz invites the youth orchestra for the music festival for a public audition of around twenty minutes integrated into the official program.
